Restore GeoTIFF Metadata

Copies the CRS and geotransform from a source GeoTIFF onto an edited TIFF that lost its georeferencing (a common side effect of opening one in an image editor that isn't geo-aware) — the files never leave your browser. Ported from a QGIS plugin. Axis-aligned georeferencing only (no rotated/sheared transforms, no ground control points), uncompressed output.

Source GeoTIFF

Has the correct CRS and geotransform.

Target TIFF

Missing its georeferencing — will receive a copy.

The output is a new file (downloaded, not written in place) — nothing about the target's pixel data is changed, only the georeferencing tags. GCPs and generic GDAL metadata domains aren't carried over; if the source uses ground control points or a rotated geotransform instead of a simple CRS + affine transform, this tool will say so rather than produce an incorrect result.
